Dear Parents: Welcome to Pegasus Quest and our program that through the collaborative efforts between St. Anthony’s and Pegasus Quest, helps your child achieve his or her maximum communicative and developmental level. At Pegasus Quest we believe that by addressing the area of concern, however minor that might be, that it contributes to the overall development of your child, and benefits them throughout the rest of their life. We all want the best for our children, and in today’s competitive and critical environment, giving our children the best tools and opportunities to succeed is critical to their growth, success, and most importantly happiness. St. Anthony’s and Pegasus Quest have developed a solid foundation for success through a very private, and confidential screening process that allows each student to be evaluated individually, and thus treated individually. Once the evaluation is complete, Pegasus Quest and St. Anthony’s work closely together to develop a program to help your child overcome any particular problems identified. This approach allows your child’s teacher and therapist to work closely together to address, correct, and ultimately provide the best care possible. We are often asked “How is this approach different from what the majority of therapeutic providers and educators do today?” The answer is simple, and is based on the commitment to your child’s success that is the heart of the partnership formed between St. Anthony’s and Pegasus Quest. Our joint commitment to the health and well being of your child is our first priority. If your cars brakes begin to squeak, the intelligent and concerned driver asks them self, “what does that noise mean to my safety operating this car?” The same is true of the concerned parent, who asks themselves when they notice their children having problems with specific vocal sounds, “what does that mean to my child’s overall development?” Unfortunately the way the identification, and treatment process works for our children in today’s environment is that the “brakes have failed” by the time our child has been evaluated and begun treatment. St. Anthony’s and Pegasus Quest believe that by identifying these deficiencies as early as possible, the problem is not only easier to treat, but reduces greatly the potential long term physical, and more importantly psychological effects that the problem can cause by going untreated. The first step in our program is our confidential - free screening process that we conduct on site at St. Anthony’s Catholic School. The results of this screening will be sent home to the parent with any recommendations for follow up if necessary. We encourage you take advantage of this free screening, and if you have any questions about the process, to call our office at the number above.
